These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Sauceur app and website (together, the "Service"), operated by Sauceur LLC ("Sauceur," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Sauceur. If you are under 18, you confirm you have a parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.
You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. Provide accurate information when you register, and let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
What you post. When you submit a rating, comment, sauce suggestion, or any other content ("User Content"), you retain ownership of it. By posting User Content, you grant Sauceur a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the Service — for example, showing your rating to other users, featuring it in aggregate statistics, or including it in marketing materials that showcase the Sauceur community. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where it has already been incorporated into aggregated, non-identifiable statistics.
Content standards. You agree not to post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, deceptive (e.g., fake ratings), or that infringes someone else's rights. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate this, and users can report content they believe violates these standards through the in-app reporting feature.
We don't pre-screen content. Sauceur does not review every rating or comment before it's posted, and we're not responsible for User Content posted by others. We do provide reporting and moderation tools and will act on reports we receive.
Sauceur participates in the Amazon Associates Program and other affiliate programs. This means when you click certain purchase links and buy a product, Sauceur may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Any purchase you make through these links is a transaction between you and the retailer (e.g., Amazon) — Sauceur is not a party to that transaction, does not process your payment, and is not responsible for the product, shipping, returns, or any issue arising from the purchase itself.
Sauceur contains links to third-party retailers, including Amazon, through affiliate partnership programs. Product information, pricing, and nutritional information displayed on third-party retailer websites is provided by those retailers and their sellers, not by Sauceur. We do not verify, and are not responsible for, the accuracy of nutritional information, pricing, or product descriptions displayed on third-party sites. Nutritional information displayed within the Sauceur app is sourced and verified separately, as described in our Privacy Policy, and may differ from information shown on third-party retailer pages.
Pairing scores and sauce information on Sauceur reflect community ratings and, in some cases, information we've compiled from public sources. We don't guarantee the accuracy of any rating, score, or sauce description, and pairing recommendations are provided for entertainment and informational purposes — always check product packaging for allergen and ingredient information.
The Sauceur name, logo, app, website design, and the underlying pairing database (independent of individual User Content) are owned by Sauceur LLC and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, scrape, or reproduce the Service or the database for commercial purposes without our permission.
You agree not to: scrape or bulk-extract data from the Service; attempt to access accounts that aren't yours; interfere with the Service's normal operation; use the Service to violate any law; or create fake accounts or manipulate ratings.
You may delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (User Content licenses already granted, limitation of liability, etc.) will continue to apply.
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any sauce information or rating is accurate or suitable for your particular needs (including dietary restrictions or allergies — always verify with the product itself).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sauceur LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any purchase made through an affiliate link. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (which, for most users, is $0, since Sauceur is free to use).
You agree to indemnify and hold Sauceur LLC harmless from any claim arising from your violation of these Terms or your User Content.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming, without regard to conflict of law principles.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. For material changes, we'll provide additional notice.
